Book Description:

This book presents both fundamentals and the state of the art of PLL synthesizer design and analysis techniques. A complete overview of both system-level and circuit-level design and analysis are covered. A 16mW, 2.4GHz, sub-2V, Sigma Delta fractional-N synthesizer prototype is implemented in 0.35m m CMOS. It features a high-speed and robust phase-switching prescaler, and a low-complexity and area-efficient loop capacitance mulitplier, which tackle speed and integration bottlenecks of PLL synthesizer elegantly. This book is conceived as a PLL synthesizer manual for both academia researchers and industry design engineers.

Digital Synthesizers and Transmitters for Software Radio

Digital Synthesizers and Transmitters for Software Radio Image
The approach adopted in Digital Synthesizers and Transmitters for Software Radio will provide an understanding of key areas in the field of digital synthesizers and transmitters. It is easy to include different digital techniques in the digital synthesizers and transmitters by using digital signal processing methods, because the signal is in digital form. By programming the digital synthesizers and transmitters, adaptive channel bandwidths, modulation formats, frequency hopping and data rates are easily achieved. Techniques such as digital predistortion for power amplifier linearization, digital compensation methods for analog I/Q modulator nonlinearities and digital power control and ramping are presented in this book. The flexibility of the digital...

CMOS Analog Circuit Design

CMOS Analog Circuit Design Image
2nd Edition
After years of anticipation, respected authors Phil Allen and Doug Holberg bring you the second edition of their popular textbook, CMOS Analog Circuit Design. From the forefront of CMOS technology, Phil and Doug have combined their expertise as engineers and academics to present a cutting-edge and effective overview of the principles and techniques for designing circuits. Their two main goals are: to mix the academic and practical viewpoints in a treatment that is neither superficial nor overly detailed and to teach analog integrated circuit design with a hierarchically organized approach. Most of the techniques and principles presented in the seco...

CMOS Analog Circuit Design

CMOS Analog Circuit Design Image
This text presents the principles and techniques for designing analog circuits to be implemented in a CMOS technology. The level is appropriate for seniors and graduate students familiar with basic electronics, including biasing, modeling, circuit analysis, and some familiarity with frequency response. Students learn the methodology of analog integrated circuit design through a hierarchically-oriented approach to the subject that provides thorough background and practical guidance for designing CMOS analog circuits, including modeling, simulation, and testing. The authors' vast industrial experience and knowledge is reflected in the circuits, techniques, and principles presented. They even identify the many common pitfalls that lie in the path of the...
