Book Description:
This book addresses challenges faced by both the algorithm designer and the chip designer, who need to deal with the ongoing increase of algorithmic complexity and required data throughput for todays mobile applications. The focus is on implementation aspects and implementation constraints of individual components that are needed in transceivers for current standards, such as UMTS, LTE, WiMAX and DVB-S2. The application domain is the so called outer receiver, which comprises the channel coding, interleaving stages, modulator, and multiple antenna transmission. Throughout the book, the focus is on advanced algorithms that are actually in use in modern communications systems. Their basic principles are always derived with a focus on the resulting communications and implementation performance. As a result, this book serves as a valuable reference for two, typically disparate audiences in communication systems and hardware design.
The Algorithms such as SVD, Eigen decomposition, Gaussian Mixture Model, HMM etc. are presently scattered in different fields. There remains a need to collect all such algorithms for quick reference. Also there is the need to view such algorithms in application point of view. This book attempts to satisfy the above requirement. The algorithms are made clear using MATLAB programs....
Techniques and Applications in Radar Image Processing
A self-contained approach to DSP techniques and applications in radar imagingThe processing of radar images, in general, consists of three major fields: Digital Signal Processing (DSP); antenna and radar operation; and algorithms used to process the radar images. This book brings together material from these different areas to allow readers to gain a thorough understanding of how radar images are processed. The book is divided into three main parts and covers:* DSP principles and signal characteristics in both analog and digital domains, advanced signal sampling, and interpolation techniques* Antenna theory (Maxwell equation, radiation field from dipole, and linear phased array), radar fundamentals, radar modulation, and target-detection techniques (c...
Theory and applications for human-computer interaction
Presents state-of-art methods for multimodal signal processing, analysis, and modelingContains numerous examples of systems with different modalities combinedDescribes advanced applications in multimodal Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) as well as in computer-based analysis and modelling of multimodal human-human communication scenes. Multimodal signal processing is an important research and development field that processes signals and combines information from a variety of modalities - speech, vision, language, text - which significantly enhance the understanding, modelling, and performance of human-computer interaction devices or systems enhancing human-human communication. The overarching theme of this book is the application of signal processing ...
